The Granary, originally part of the grain barn, now a 3 bedroom cottage sleeping 5. Lounge, kitchen, downstairs WC, 3 bedrooms and bathroom. 1 double, 1 single and a set of bunk beds. Outside patio space with garden furniture and parking.

Our holiday cottages are ideally located in the quiet hamlet of Wiston near Biggar. These charming period stone built cottages are perfect for a cosy romantic weekend or an action-filled vacation. This getaway is perfectly positioned in an idyllic rural location with wonderful valley and countryside scenery to enjoy, surrounded by the open hills of Scotland’s stunning Southern Uplands.

Enjoy a drink or an alfresco meal from the front patio where you can really appreciate the tranquil surroundings, or head into the picturesque Royal Burgh of Biggar with its array of great eateries, friendly inns, quirky shops, art galleries and fascinating museums including Upper Clydesdale, Gas Works and award winning puppet theatre. the busy market town of Biggar and browse the independent shops before stopping off for a bite in a deli or café or take a day trip into the wonderful city of Edinburgh,, for fantastic leisure and shopping facilities or explore the vibrant city of Glasgow, just a short trip up the motorway.

The Clyde Valley beyond is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of New Lanark.

Fancy Gold Panning? A short drive will take you to the highest village in Scotland, Wanlockhead and Leadhills where gold panning has been popular for centuries. Gold is found in the sands and gravels in the burns which act as a natural means of concentrating the gold.

The area is a paradise for walking, hiking, cycling, fishing and even paragliding and gold panning. Offering unrivalled opportunities, walkers can spend their days following the many footpaths and trails in the area, with a popular walk up Tinto Hill which gives commanding views of the Clyde Valley.
In the village itself and only a few minutes walk from the cottages is the magnificent Wiston Lodge built in 1850’s. Wiston Lodge is a special place with a rich history set in beautiful grounds and gardens, One of Wiston Lodge’s major attractions is the outdoor space. The 53-acre estate consists of a wide variety of woodlands, with various walks and features to explore. During the summer months and school holidays Wiston lodge offers children’s holiday camps, bush craft courses etc, bookable directly with them for a day or a week.
